Since the apartment is on the second floor, there needs to be stairs to get to the unit. Next to the garage on the side will be a 4′ wide stair that will go from the ground straight to the landing of the apartment. Once there, the visitor can ring door bell which will sound off a chime, and flicker a lamp if plugged in. The stairs will be metal for longevity, and will be covered to reduce the chance of snow and ice forming on the stairs themselves making the stairs safer.
